Facts
India has the largest number of uneducated children in the world. 50% of children aged 6 to18 do not go to school. The education system faces a shortage of resources, schools, classrooms and teachers. There are also concerns relating to teacher training, the quality of the curriculum, assessment of learning achievements and the efficacy of school management. Given the scarcity of quality schools, many children drop out before completing five years of primary education; many of those who stay on learn little.
Why Sahayata?
Sahayata means “to help” and the Sahayata School does just that. Taking children from underprivileged backgrounds and educating them from kindergarten to 5th grade. The initiative aims to help undereducated children through a variety of programs, including basic education, support classes and even teaching better hygiene. The children
then join a public school to complete their secondary education.

Sahayata students come from poverty, where the parents themselves are illiterate earning less than a dollar a day. What they have in common is financial need and a keen desire to learn. In Sahayata, no willing student is turned away. The Sahayata School believes that education is the right of every child.

The Future of the WFX Foundation
Currently, 63 children attend the Sahayata school. As our user base grows, so does our ability to give. Our future plans are to build more capacity to Sahayata school and offer further courses of education beyond grade 5. This means adding more teachers and adding further facilities so these children can grow their learning expand to diverse areas of interest.
